Get Hands-On: Practical Skills Training at NNPS Keystone 2025

If you're looking to go beyond theory and build confidence in clinical skills you can use immediately, NNPS Keystone has you covered. This year’s conference features several interactive, hands-on sessions designed specifically for Advanced Practice Providers who want to refine their procedural techniques and return to practice empowered.

These immersive workshops offer focused instruction from industry experts and direct experience with high-demand clinical tools and techniques. Whether you're expanding your scope of practice or simply want to stay sharp, these sessions provide a valuable edge.

Why It Matters

Hands-on training allows you to reinforce your clinical knowledge with real-world experience in a supportive environment. These sessions are especially valuable for APPs looking to expand their procedural capabilities, meet certification needs, or simply gain more confidence in delivering specialized care.

IUD Placement Training with Bayer

Led by Kelly Schmidt, MSN, WHNP-BC, this session offers an in-depth overview of Bayer’s suite of intrauterine devices, including Mirena®, Kyleena®, and Skyla®. After a concise clinical review, you'll gain practical experience with placement techniques in a safe, supervised environment. It’s a perfect opportunity to build or refresh your skill set in one of the most in-demand procedures in reproductive health.

NEXPLANON® Insertion and Removal Certification with Organon

This highly sought-after program offers APPs the chance to become certified in the insertion and removal of the NEXPLANON® (etonogestrel implant) 68 mg Radiopaque. Presented by clinical faculty from Organon, the workshop includes hands-on instruction in insertion, removal, and localization techniques. Registration and eligibility verification are required, making this a structured path to adding a new credential to your toolkit.

Wound Dressing Selection: See, Touch, and Feel

Led by Amanda Bailey, ACNP-BC, CWS, this tactile workshop introduces APPs to the practical side of wound care. Attendees will evaluate dressing types in real-world scenarios and learn how to select the most effective products based on wound characteristics. The session also covers common diagnoses and when to escalate care. It’s a must-attend for clinicians managing complex wounds in outpatient or acute settings.
