KEYSTONE:
YOUR DESTINATION
NNPS 2026 brings you to Keystone for education,
connection, and the kind of scenery that makes
even a busy conference week feel more spacious.
Keystone Resort offers a true “conference-meets-retreat.”
Easy to navigate, easy to unwind, and full of simple ways
to step outside and reset between sessions.
This guide will help you plan your trip with confidence.
From what to do around the resort to a couple of memorable
offsite experiences if you’re extending your stay.

Flying to Keystone
Flying into Denver International Airport (DIA)
Denver International Airport serves as the gateway to your mountain escape.
Keystone is approximately 90 miles west of DIA, a scenic drive of about two hours by car or shuttle.
Shuttle Service: Skip the stress of driving and book a ride with a trusted provider like Epic Mountain Express. Their professional drivers navigate winding mountain roads, allowing you to relax and soak in the incredible views. Your shuttle ride will pass through bustling Denver suburbs, then wind through the breathtaking Rocky Mountains via I-70.
You’ll cross the Continental Divide at the iconic Eisenhower Tunnel before descending into Summit County.
Driving to Keystone
Keystone is an accessible yet awe-inspiring drive for those traveling from surrounding states.
-
From Denver:
Take I-70 West to Exit 205 (Silverthorne/Dillon).
Follow signs for US-6 East, which will take you directly to Keystone Resort (about 7 miles).
-
Driving Tips:
-
Check road conditions on COTrip.org, especially during summer storms.
-
Fill up on gas before heading into the mountains; gas stations are limited in remote areas.
-
ACTIVITES
Set in the Colorado Rockies, Keystone offers a peaceful backdrop for
walking between sessions, grabbing coffee with colleagues, or unwinding
outdoors after a full day of learning. Take advantage of resort activities,
mountain views, and cool evening air, while you reconnect with why you
chose this profession in the first place.
Scenic Lift Rides + Mountain Views
If you want a high-reward, low-effort Keystone moment, this is it.
Keystone’s Scenic Gondola Ride takes you up the mountain for
panoramic views, an easy time outdoors without committing to a full hike.
River Run Village Activities
If you’re staying near River Run (or just popping over), it’s a great base
area for casual activities that don’t require planning your life around them.
The resort’s summer activity lineup includes options like mini golf,
bungee trampoline, gemstone panning, and a scenic gondola ride.
Lakeside Village + Adventure Center activities
This is your “soft landing” zone - especially great after a full day of sessions.
Lakeside Village activities include paddle boats, stand-up paddleboards,
kayaks, canoes, bike rentals, and even free yard games and hammock lounging.
If you’re looking for a relaxed end-of-day hang, Rathbone Tap Room
is located inside the Keystone Adventure Center at Lakeside Village
(with a self-pour tap wall that includes wine, beer, and craft cocktails).
Spa + Recovery Time
Keystone’s Alpenglow Spa is open daily, and it’s a solid option if
your idea of “Keystone activities” is turning your nervous system
from on-call to offline.
Two Memorable Adventures
If you have an open afternoon with friends, an extra day,
or you’re traveling with family, these are standout experiences
that feel very “Colorado” without needing expert-level outdoor skills.
Georgetown Loop Railroad (easy, scenic, and genuinely fun)
The Georgetown Loop Railroad and Mining Park is a historic narrow-gauge
railroad experience with options like a train ride, mine tour, and gold panning.
-
The train ride is about 1 hour and 15 minutes during the main season.
-
The mine tour is available from April through mid-September, and it adds time for a total experience of about 2 hours and
30 minutes on the train.
This one’s great if you want something scenic and memorable that still feels restful (read: you get to sit down while the mountains do the heavy lifting).
Colorado Trail Rides
(Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Stables - Nathrop, CO)
If you want a classic Colorado experience, Colorado Trail Rides
offers guided horseback rides with time built in for photos and enjoying the scenery.
Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Stables
-
Trail rides have an age minimum of 5 years and older.
-
For kids under 5, they offer pony rides.
This is a great pick if you’re adding a day before/after NNPS
and want a true “I went to Colorado” moment.
A Few Practical Keystone Tips
-
Plan for layers. Mountain mornings and evenings can
be cool even when the afternoons are sunny.
-
Hydrate early and often. Altitude and busy days can sneak up on you.
-
Check hours and availability. Summer activities and lift operations vary by date and day of the week.
